A review on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for toxic gases adsorption
Abstract
The safe and effective adsorption and degradation of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) and toxic industrial chemicals (TICs) are the current research hotspots. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been widely used in the adsorption and degradation of harmful gases due to low density, large pore capacity and customizable structure, and some progress has been made. In this review, the relevant mechanisms of MOFs for the catalysis and adsorption of CWAs are briefly discussed, as well as the research status of MOFs adsorption of TICs. Finally, the preparation of MOF-textile composites and their potential for personal protective equipment (PPE) are summarized, and the potential applications of MOFs in chemical protection are prospected.
